YouTube has recently announced it has begun tests on a new tool that will enable users to edit their video clips' metadata while the video is still being uploaded, which should, uh, save you more time?
Oh, and to the surprise of most, YouTube has also announced that it will
increased the file size limit from 100MB to 1GB.
Yes, 1GB.
Though this file size increase should have internet humorists and blooper-reel enthusiasts celebrating, it doesn't come without controversy. Many wireless providers are beginning to tighten the screws on bandwidth, which, despite the illegal downloading red herring, has largely been caused by
YouTube and other similar
video sharing sites.
There are many potential reasons why the file size limit was increased. However, it is unlikely that this file size increase is meant to sate users alone. It seems more likely that YouTube is taking notice of the success that
Internet TV sites are having and wants to offer full episodes to visitors that must go elsewhere to find them.
Then again, I could be wrong.
