Lameness Alert: YouTube Will Display Videos in 3D

I can’t tell you how tired I am of this 3D fad in video (actually, I can tell you, or rather I have already). It has happened before multiple times, and I don’t think this is the magical moment when it will all stick. Nevertheless, YouTube has jumped on the bandwagon and now allows you to upload and watch 3D movies.
While the ubiquity of YouTube certainly gives the 3D movement a better shot at survival, are we seriously going to start carrying around a pair of 3D glasses to watch David After the Dentist? Sorry guys, but Dramatic Gopher wouldn’t be any better with an extra dimension.
Regardless, YouTube isn’t doing this half-heartedly. There are all sorts of options for different types of 3D video and different types of 3D glasses you can use. YouTube did its homework. And in the process has actually become one of the largest providers of 3D content. Whoop-de-doo. I’ll go watch my memes in 2D, thanks.
