FlipShare: Yet Another Video Share Site
Everyone's favorite mini-camcorder, the Flip Mino, now ships with preloaded software to make it easy to upload video to yet another video share site ... but this time, it's Flip's own site. What makes FlipShare different? It's private. Yes, to enter FlipShare you must have already uploaded videos under your email address.
Flip claims this site makes it easy to share video and photos with family and friends. Jonathan Kaplan, senior VP/general manager of the consumer business group at Cisco, which recently acquired Pure Digital Technologies, makers of Flip Video products says, "Our latest FlipShare software, with the new Flip Channels feature, takes video sharing to the next level by making it incredibly easy to share video with a friend, a group or with the world."
I remain skeptical, but open-minded as always. I will schedule the demo and we will all see tomorrow.
In addition to new Flips preloaded with software, you can download FlipShare for free, and there will be an iPhone app available "soon" so you can watch Flip-made videos. No competition here since the iPhone does not take video.
